“… What?” Ratio says, only faltering slightly. His expression is too flustered for his usual levels of reproach, but the silent question is the same. What do you want, Aventurine?
Aventurine only leans down further, pulling Ratio’s left hand up and abruptly sinking his ring finger into his mouth. Aventurine watches the way Ratio’s brilliant, dawn-bright eyes widen and the way he flinches - but doesn’t pull away - when Aventurine bites down. When he sits back and lets Ratio’s hand go, he watches the silvery string of saliva break. He stares at the ring of teeth marks indented in Ratio’s skin, wrapping possessively around his finger.
“You,” Aventurine says. The word sits heavy in his stomach, even after it leaves his mouth.
[Affection, as hunger. Love, as voracity. Lust, as gluttony.]

“So you pity me?”
“I sympathise with you.”
“I see no difference.”
“Genuine concern should not be this much of a bother to anyone,” Ratio said matter-of-factly, “it’s disheartening to see how foreign of a concept this is for you.”

“Teenagers,” Goro says derisively.
“And how old are you?”
Fuck off, Goro grumbles to himself. To Ren, he says: “Old enough at least to be above that sort of disgraceful display, thank you very much.”
“Mm,” Ren hums, absently swirling his straw around his finger. “So have you ever kissed anyone?”
Goro chokes on his drink.
