Summary
Quinn Hughes has never been genuinely happy one day in his life. Sure, there are fleeting moments, but that is all they are, fleeting. Dealing with depression has become more difficult as he has gotten older, and it seems he has reached another one of his lows. The unsuspected trade to the Minnesota Wild all but gutted the routine he had set out for himself. Quinn won't admit it, but he is kind of excited to start fresh in a different state where none of his teammates really know him. He can become any type of person he wants, and they won't know the difference. They won't know how much hurt and sadness he has lingering inside.
Enter Kirill Kaprizov. As soon as Quinn met Kirill, he knew he was fucked. Those perfect blonde curls and Russian accent knew just how to strip Quinn of the mask he so desperately clung to.

Summary
Here's the thing that most don't know about when it comes to these kinds of things. There's so many people around the world who are spiritually in tune yet not everyone is a clairvoyant. Quinn’s family are just one of those unlucky ones that have the ability and the thing with clairvoyants is that their spiritual energy is a mirror of the dead’s.
Ellen had taught Quinn and his little brothers at a young age that they shouldn't, by any means, go through a ghost no matter what. Especially after what happened to Luke when he was five years old.
Their abilities came with repercussions. It was basic respect. They could see and interact with these more often than not lonely spirits. Going through them like they weren't real people was just rude and apparently dangerous for the clairvoyants themselves.
Or; the Hughes are being haunted by a ghost but so is the rest of the league.

Dew growls at him at the last comment, but Rain simply clicks his fingers making him stop. Phantom looks between the two of them, frozen. Panic creeps into his chest, constricting his lungs making his breathing sharp and jagged.
