At some point, Jayce looks around and doesn’t recognize the neighbourhood. “Where’re we?”
“Piltover,” Viktor says smartly. “Keep walking."
“Sheesh. Bossy.”
“Keep. Walking."
And well, the thing is, Jayce would follow Viktor to the ends of the earth.
He’d just have an easier time of it sober.
Or, one night four years into their partnership, Viktor and Jayce get vulnerable.

Summary
Heaven is most displeased with their erring Earth agent, Aziraphale. His little act with the Hellfire was all well and good, but after the flames died down, the archangels had to wonder just how he'd done it. It's not the sort of skill one likes to leave with only Aziraphale. They have to find out how he did it. The only problem is that there's no way he'll tell them. He won't tell anyone.
Except, perhaps...one particular demon.

Riyael, chief angel in charge of the Department of Earth Observations — and sole angel in the department at present, seeing as even the handful of other staff who occasionally assisted with paperwork and filing tasks had all been reassigned out of the office for battle training — stared at the inquiry form on their desk.

OR: Riyael has spent six thousand years observing Earth — and observing many of the interactions that happen thereon. They've done their duty all these millennia, and haven't made trouble. (Never having happened to mention the fact that one of the Earth agents frequently fraternizes with the Serpent of Eden doesn't count as trouble, thank you very much. Anyway, no one ever asked. Until now.
But now Armageddon is coming. And even a mere Observer may have some difficult — and important — choices to make.
