Ever since the final battle with Vecna, something had felt… off. Mike wasn’t too sure how to explain it any other way. It’s like the world had shifted just slightly to the left. Everything he did caused an itch at the back of his mind that he couldn’t seem to scratch, no matter what.

This existential threat has led to the rise of the Utilitarian Sect in the United States, an authoritarian regime that has risen to power through undeniable logic and argumentative skill. The Sect soon arrives at a sobering realization: survival demands one hundred thousand births within fifteen years from these ten thousand rr women, nearly all of whom have refused the call to be "Vessels."
