After being treated like unwanted children all their lives, Tim, Kon, Cassie, and Bart start to realise that the adulthood set out before them isn't much better than the past their leaving behind. They decide it's time to make their own way in the world, even if it means being labelled as 'evil'

Max is trying to be patient, he really is. It’s only Bart’s second Christmas ever, and it’s his first without his mom. She couldn’t make it. And Bart gets it – Max has no doubt of that, he’s a smart kid – but that doesn’t stop him from missing his mom. Max can sympathize with that, he really can, and it’s not like Max is Cindy Lou Who… But, as they get closer and closer to Christmas Day, Bart gets closer and closer to becoming the Grinch.

When he begins uploading videos with advice for young heroes, he hopes a few new heroes might avoid some of the pain he went through. He's shocked at just how popular his advice suddenly becomes.

Tim leaned forward, hands on the table, as he stood in the place where Batman always stood. The place at the head of the table. The place of a leader. And an army stood behind him.
“You’ve gathered your forces as quick as you could,” He grinned sharply, his dominion mask shifting, “I’ve gathered mine.”
