He was buried.
Trapped.
“No, no, no-” He whispered to himself as he started pushing against the rocks around him, desperately seeking any sort of give in the rubble. He started clawing at the stone and could practically feel the ghost of a wooden coffin lid under his nails, muffling his cries and prayers to gods who just turned away from him. Astarion couldn’t handle another year under the ground with just his broken mind to keep him company.
“Please!” He shouted, his cries echoing painfully off the enclosed space, cries that were only ever heard by his own ears. “I can’t-I can’t do this, please, someone, let me out!” The others wouldn’t have left him behind, right? They knew something like this couldn’t have killed him, they had to know he was still down here.

Summary
“A-apologies, Gale.” Wyll manages to breathe out. The distance between the two of them steadily becomes a yawning chasm, though it’s as if Wyll is the only one who can see it.
“Whatever for?” Gale asks between breaths. His voice is muffled by the all consuming dizziness that makes Wyll's head feel as though he's underwater. “You haven’t done anything wrong!”
“Not yet.” Wyll pushes himself a little further but knows that it’s only a matter of time. “But I fear I’m about to faint. Pass along my condolences to the rest of the group, will you?”
Gale’s eyes go wide. It’s the last thing Wyll sees before his legs finally fail him.
(Or, Wyll isn’t used to having backup. Being used as bait to lure the others back is a very new experience, and oddly a good one.)

Astarion let out an agitated sound. “Jealous, okay? I was jealous of everyone who had hands on you, and I feel like a fool alright. I’ve said it. You’ve heard it. Now let's just go home so I can bury myself in the garden.”
