After the island, the boys had been shipped off to different schools in a fleeting attempt to return to normalcy. Five years later, after the closing of many schools in the area, Jack and Ralph end up at the same one. A sequence of deaths follows the two, but they're convinced that it's not just coincidence. Something's wrong and unfortunately for them, working together might be the only option to bring the answer to light.
(Or Jack and Ralph being emotionally constipated, awkward idiots too stupid to realize they're crushing hard on each other while playing detective.)

Summary
Henry woke feeling a bit stiff.
He didn’t quite know why, but his joints took a bit more coaxing to get warmed up for the day ahead. He was getting a bit older, but he was still spry enough to have jumped right out of bed the prior morning with no issue.
Henry groaned as his knees crackled. He had only stood up from where he was sitting on his bed, but his joints had quite literally been creaking ever since he woke up. His moustache was also unnaturally tame for this time of year. Henry leaned into his mirror, staring at his reflection. Well, he guessed, it wouldn’t hurt to have to use less product than usual. He put a bit in, smoothing it out ever so slightly, and continued on with his morning.
Just a few little things.
That’s it.
OR; After Master Adam gets turned into a Beast, Cogsworth and the rest of the castle start to notice some... interesting changes.

“I thought you’d still be busy,” Chuuya said.
“I got you cake,” Dazai said, with studied meekness.
Chuuya stared at the gift as though it was an affront, but he took it from Dazai’s hands and went inside, leaving Dazai to follow after him. Which he did, eventually.
In the kitchen, in the glow of the yellow counter lights, Chuuya plated the pastries. He rummaged through a drawer for two forks, three-tined and sharp with glass handles. Dazai’s thoughts filled with blood.

"Jesus. It’s like you physically can’t stop talking."
"Rude, chibi," Dazai hums, unbothered. "I can be quiet, you know."
"Yeah, sure," Chuuya deadpans, shoving his hands into his coat pockets. "I bet you can."
Dazai’s eyes gleam with mischief. He stops walking for just a second, then speeds up to fall back into step beside Chuuya. "Bet, you say?"
"That’s not what I said." Chuuya doesn’t even look at him. "You’ve got selective hearing, huh? Maybe you should get that doctor of yours to check it out. Could be an underlying condition. If we’re lucky, it might even be fatal."
Dazai laughs, stepping ahead and turning to face him as they walk through the terminal. "No, no. You’re onto something here. I accept your challenge."
"What challenge?" Chuuya glares.
Dazai smirks. "Let’s make a bet. I bet I can go longer without talking to you than you can to me."

“Wait,” he grounds out, gaze darting back to Dazai as the rest of the sentence registers. “You’re hurt?”
“Astute observation,” Dazai drawls, rolling his eyes.
“Shut up, shithead,” Chuuya barks, “what happened?”
“Chuuya crushed me like the tiny cannonball he is,” Dazai says, making a pinching motion with his fingers. Chuuya slaps the hand away, growling.
“Fine, fine.” Dazai sighs. “A piece of rubble fell on it. It’s just fractured. I’ll live, unfortunately.”
Chuuya eyes him critically. “Any other injuries?”
“Average cuts and bruises,” Dazai dismisses, “now lay back down, slug. I’m not finished.” He waves the roll of gauze in his hand around impatiently.
“Fuck’s sake,” Chuuya hisses, doing the exact opposite and sitting up fully. At Dazai’s dry and unimpressed look, he adds, “I’m fine. You lay down, bastard.”
Or: 5 times Chuuya (begrudgingly, okay?!) takes care of Dazai and the 1 time Dazai returns the favour.
