Summary
Light's starting to think that he shouldn't have said yes when B invited him over to have a quiet place to study. He shouldn't have listened when B had a secret to tell him either and he definitely shouldn't have agreed to go out in the woods with him. Because B is the person that taught him how to aim a rifle at something that wasn't on four legs, and he's the reason Light's out here in the April heat doing it right now, waiting for B to come back from the truck.
In Ste. Mary Magdalene Parish, Louisiana, throughout the late winter and early spring of 2004, people that no one should miss start disappearing. It isn't until crawfish season is in full swing that people begin to notice.

Light breaks L's arm. He does something worse afterwards.

L's inconvenient fixation began when Light had a wet dream during her confinement. She didn't cum and she looked so frustrated and desperate when she woke up, he's wanted to finger her in her sleep ever since. Just to get her close. Just to see that face again when she wakes up, and then see her try to hide it.
He wants worse things, too. At least subconsciously. On the rare occasion that he does sleep, L only dreams about one thing:
Light pinned underneath him, bucking and twisting and hissing at him.
L has inconvenient, damning fantasies about his prime suspect. She turns the tables on him.
