A kiss was pressed against her temple, and she buried her face against his broad shoulder, thighs squeezing against his hips. She never felt so full in her life.
Mister Ajax shifted his hips, and in turn she squeezed tighter, nails digging into his back a little deeper. She was going insane.
She had read once that time truly was relative. Sometimes an hour could feel like a second, or perhaps a second could feel like an hour, or a lifetime could go by in mere seconds.
This was the longest 17 seconds she had ever felt in her life.

Stretched out at the rooftop and laid down on the ground, with the sun hitting him as he basked in it like a lazy, fat cat on a summer’s afternoon. A shadow fell over him, and the footsteps finally stopped.

Childe finally opened his eyes to look up.
She’s still not wearing any shorts under her skirt.
“It’s pink today.”
Zhongli blinked down at him, frustratingly and adorably oblivious that Childe had a front row seat to whatever she’s hiding under her skirt.

Bruce just nodded, and Clark realized a second too late that holidays might not be a benign topic after all. He’d assumed Bruce had someone—grandparents, cousins, even family friends—to spend his breaks with. But now that Clark thought about it, hadn’t he mentioned staying in Metropolis over the summer, too?

It hadn’t been urgent — not Batman, too hurt to get out of his armor like last time Clark had been called, suddenly, to Gotham. To Bruce, half sprawled over the hood of his car, breath ragged. And it hadn’t been Bruce whining his name from bed like the time before. That had sounded urgent, too.
This was distracted, like Bruce was focused on something else. “Blowtorch,” Bruce said. “The small one.”

This whole thing felt like a big joke. Because it was. Clark heard Lois and Jimmy and Steve giggle as he dragged his feet out the door. He was tasked with the impossible but if he failed, his job was jeopardized. Or at least, that’s what Perry told him in a very stern voice that afternoon.
