Now, if anyone happens to pass by, they’ll just look like any two schoolboys, having any old conversation. You’d have to be standing over them to see their hands are joined, palms pressed together, a snug little pocket of warmth between them.
Justin and Andrew hang out in a park, eat some chips, kiss a lot under a tree, and talk a bit about the future.

Summary
Life’s hard when you’re sixteen, so it’s even worse when your dad chooses this time in your blossoming teen-hood to have an affair with a twenty-something and bugger off.
Sensitive Andrew Stanton, the teenager in question, has resorted to the self-appointed therapy of drinking himself silly. Not only that, but he’s dropped out of school to pursue it. The once-golden boy has decided that he has no prospects left in life, so he’s also decided that there’s little to no point in leaving the house at all.
Plus, he’s got more piled up on his stressful plate than just his absent father and overall cruddy home life.
For all the self help books and brochures on adolescence that his mother has forced on him, there’s one burning question that never seems to be addressed:
What on Earth are you supposed to do when you can’t stop thinking about snogging the face off of your same-sex best mate?
