Daisy never looked away when he turned his head, didn’t so much as blink. She didn’t act like she'd been caught. She just continued to shamelessly stare right at him, looking into his eyes from across the room. A silent dare in her eyes, in the hard, unapologetic lines of her mouth.
He always looked away first. Giving in to her, cowed. He hated it, he hated it, but there was no denying it: he was her inferior. The weaker alpha, a step below on the ladder. She’d shown him that clearly enough. She wasn’t like Tim, back when they’d still been friends. She hadn’t been willing to be polite and act like the truth wasn’t there. She had been ruthlessly, mercilessly honest.
The difference between then and now is so stark that it regularly leaves him feeling unbalanced.

Zoro swallows. He hasn’t even said anything, just presented the collar to Luffy without so much of a word, but Luffy does always get his point. Like Luffy can always hear his thoughts; feel how he feels. It brings comfort to Zoro knowing that he doesn’t need to say the words out loud.
“Y-Yeah,” he answers, his tongue feeling thick.

Kenobi scoffs but doesn’t seem to have a counter argument. Instead, he turns on his heel, ready to walk away, but Anakin isn’t done just yet. He reaches out and manages to snag the back of Kenobi’s collar, and he tugs, trying to pull Kenobi back.
Again, he underestimates Kenobi’s footwork, because he’s firm on his feet, and all that Anakin manages to do it pull the cloth down Kenobi’s shoulder.
That’s when he sees it.

There were a few things Obi-Wan had learned about Anakin Skywalker since getting to know him. He had a near-constant smirk on his face, his views on omegas were surprisingly regressive for his age, and he had little to no concern for Obi-Wan’s boundaries. All in all, Anakin was the epitome of everything he hated in an alpha, but for some reason, Obi-Wan still found him strangely endearing. Perhaps it was because Anakin was still young enough that Obi-Wan thought he could be a good influence on him and show him that omegas could be more than just stay-at-home moms. What was the worst that could happen?
