Did you like the epilogues? Did you /read/ the epilogues? Oh, neither? Well, here's something else that could've happened instead.
I basically took the parts I liked from each timeline, added some of my own stuff, and here we are! Probably best read if you've read the epilogues, but you're not gonna be lost either way.

After that summer, the summer filled with all the ways you could hurt another person without killing them, the group grew apart.Terezi and Karkat had grabbed each other as you do a life preserver on a sinking ship, digging claws into each other and kicking as fast as they could to get as far away from the wreck of their childhood as possible. It gave them someone to know and hate and love and blame that they could stand to be in the same room as.
They’d moved and gotten jobs and gone to school and dropped out of school and had horrible tense conversations with Vriska and Sollux and Kanaya and Nepeta and then got married at town hall with none of those people attending.
They survived and they were living, and most days breathing wasn’t too hard. They were grown now, when neither of them had entirely expected to be. They fought, but not earth-shakingly. They loved with bite in it, and they both occasionally thought about other people but each was very aware of this fact, so it only got brought up in the nastiest of fights. They were good.
Just different than Terezi had thought it would be.And then Gamzee Fucking Makara shows up.

Despite this, Dirk chooses to abandon his son and leaves him behind. As a result, Stan Strider, Dirk's son, has to grapple with his life drastically changing at the young age of 16 and once more when he reaches 21.

John stared at the eyeless muse, waiting for her to crack a joke or at least a smile. Something to let the poor kid know that this wasn't what was actually waiting for him--for all of them--so close to the end of the game. No such solace came, and a dull memory began to flicker in the back of the teenager's head, one that burned hot for just a moment before fading quietly into a migraine waiting to happen. A memory of himself and his ectobiological sister. And a movie he hadn't realized was as AWFUL as it was.
"So, is being a shitty writer a requirement for cherubs, or is it a family trait?"
The Heir of Breath is recruited by Alternate Calliope to help ensure Homestuck^2 never happens. The clearest way to make it work is to force the game to run a patch before its completion, but it will require a lot of work on John's end, and the results are something no one but Alt Calliope and her increasingly fed up editor could have expected. John has never felt closer to the Makaras, and as time goes on, the feelings start to be reciprocated.

Summary
The game was never really meant to be won. It's output, the universe John could never really call home, is cursed. So when John and Calliope are faced with two, equally bad options, they decide to go for a third.
What if instead of destroying Lord English, they made sure he never existed in the first place? Maybe it really was possible to fix everything. To truly have a happy ending.
So John (now with Aradia by his side), reluctantly prepares for another retcon. And, unbeknownst to everyone but her, Calliope calls in a favor. For a fleeting moment, a perfect future is within their grasp.
However, when faced with "canon" once again, they find out the hard way that it could never be that easy. Every win comes with a brutal sacrifice, by the time they realize, it's too late. Not wanting to doom the timeline they created, their only hope is that, perhaps, the path to heaven goes through hell first.

Gamzee Makara distances himself from his friends on the meteor, and finds himself stumbling across an egg on a post-apocalyptic Earth. He tries to raise the young cherubs but fails to provide the proper emotional care that they require and ends up leaving them with no trace of his own existence. It's basically just how Gamzee raised the cherubs. It's written very broadly (using non-Homestuck terminology) because I had to write it for a grade 12 English project. The assignment was quite literally to write a fanfiction featuring the untouched part of a narrative. It's probably gonna be like really obvious in my writing lol I just needed somewhere to post this because my teacher really liked it.
