Victor is prepping Yuuri K. for the 4Cs in Montreal while also working with JJ. What could go wrong -- oh yeah, Yuri P. for reasons no one is talking about tagged along. So four skaters, one rented house, Of course, there is that little matter of JJ and the breakup that had been all over social media a few months before ... but it would be fine, right? No, nowhere near fine. It quickly becomes clear Plisetsky is more or less falling apart with as much screaming and swearing as one would assume -- or worse when he isn't swearing. Maybe this is just what is actually needed to pull JJ out of his guilt over Isabella. Maybe Yuri needs JJ more than he thought he could ever admit or even think possible.

At least Yuri doesn’t look scared, now, but with him it’s hard to know whether that spark of anger means normalcy or an impending conflagration. “Why not?” His tone is controlled; it sounds like he’s daring Otabek to say the wrong thing. He tugs his sleeve out of Otabek’s grip.
“Because.” This is so stupid, so obvious, that it’s hard for Otabek to even find the words to explain it. “Because you’re Yuri fucking Plisetsky."In which Otabek doesn't respond very well to being surprised, and Yuri does not understand why the hell he is surprised at all.

Yuri had never been able to wrap his head around the idea of bonding to someone for the rest of his life. How could you just want to be with someone all the time. That made no sense. Victor talked about just knowing, that he looked into Yuuri’s eyes and everything had just felt right. That was some stupid mushy stuff that was just Victor being his overly dramatic self. No, he didn’t need a Mate. He had Victor and lucky for Yuri, his Mate was understanding of their arrangement. “I just want you, and this time Chris. Okay?”

That isn’t to say that he doesn’t still have the occasional tendency to sink back into his prickly ways. He still has his days, however few and far between they may be, where his flair for the dramatic rears its ugly head and takes over his faculties for reasoning.
