“Oh, for fuck’s sake, why do you always-“ Haruchiyo’s build-up for a short speech on how he’s sick of their drama gets interrupted by a phone call. Kazutora’s eyes dart to the phone, screen up on the coffee table, Baji’s name on it.

“I don’t need either,” the boy shrugs. “I can show you that you’re no better than me all on my own,” his eyes are wide open, empty, and with something so deeply wrong in them.
