In his dreams, he’s on his back under the piano, looking up at its underbelly. His hand is around one of its legs. They’re having a talk about the future. It’s the type of thing you see in movies — what’s your five-year plan? Do you see me in it? Are we going to spend the rest of our lives together? This, forever. And the piano agrees that it’s probably for the best that Jay never leaves its side — his side, whatever; the piano is Matt is the piano is whatever, it’s not like any of this has some grander meaning. It’s just Jay and Matt, like always.
Jay reaches up and brushes his hand along the wood. The piano snorts and jerks away from him. You’re tickling me. Why are you tickling me? Well, I just wanted to see what would happen if I did.

They've rented two massive cottages in a fancy winter resort four hours north of Toronto. Maybe, maybe, if he and Matt weren't getting married, he could duck out of it. The ice spreading down Dean’s spine makes him shiver.
“I suppose you could say I’m your guardian angel,” the man murmurs. His breath fogs pale between them. All of him is unnaturally warm, like Dean’s touching somebody with the sun sewn up beneath their skin. “I have known you, Dean Winchester, for a very long time.”

Jack was getting into the book as he read slower but louder during a big fight scene. He got so excited that he even jumped up and looked back at Cas, "Did you hear that, Dad? He won!"
Cas smiled back at him- a genuine smile- and Dean almost dropped the piece of metal in his hand while Jack froze, his shoulders tightening up while he scrunched up his lips as if trying to hold back his cry.
Instead, he quietly composed himself as he asked in a shaky voice, "You want me to read the rest?"
Cas only blinked at him, keeping the slight smile, and Jack took it as a yes. Jack sat beside him again with a big smile plastered on his face, whipping his eyes every other word, as he rested his head on Cas's shoulder to continue reading. Dean didn’t miss when Cas tilted his head down to rest his cheek on Jack’s hair.
