This was originally written in 2002, rescued by Choose2Live, and lightly edited by me in 2016. (Mainly stuff where Bono babbles about art history.) This is part one of three connected stories of mine. Heck, they're all connected. The original version of Close had twelve chapters, but I'm going to post them here in four big chunks. Thanks to everyone who has read this series over the past 14 years and told me it meant something to them. <3

Summary
Gibbs has left for Mexico, and Tony’s gut is telling him he’s in trouble. Abby is too distracted by her grief for Gibbs to back Tony up, so he decides to go to the most Abbish person he knows for help: Penelope Garcia. Abby introduced them after the two women met at a forensics seminar for federal agents. So Tony asks Garcia if she will do a little digging, but bringing Garcia in means bringing in other members of the BAU. After all, if Garcia thinks a friend is in trouble, she’ll always turn to her Derek, trusting him to do the right thing. Tony just isn't sure that having Derek Morgan on his side is going to help when he has a director making unreasonable requests, a team doing the minimum required for their job and an overwrought Abby to deal with.

Summary
Due to a magical surge, the weather in the Mianitian isles has turned against them as they are all snowed in. Tom and Jordan find themselves stuck in Tom's house with their suppressed feelings. Tom angsts over his feelings for Jordan and how he believes his friend could never love him back while Jordan is overcome by the feelings he thought he no longer had for Tom. When Tom catches a fever and Jordan's mission to get magma blocks for heat almost goes awry, they two find themselves having to talk about their feelings for each other and their past experiences.

Tony is severally injured, again, due to Director Sheppard’s selfish wants, and this time he might not fully recover.
I am re-reading this in an attempt to pick it up again. But as I read I see errors and I just can't let them pass. So these are not new chapters. I'll let you know when they are.
The new chapters start at 8, but you might want to begin again if you have lost the thread of the story.
I was recently reminded my mind must have taken a holiday because there are only 7 cervical vertebrae. You can imagine my horror when I discovered I had made such a simple error. I have corrected each chapter to reflect the correct info if you receive notification of these as new chapters they are not. They are a correction to my huge error. I am currently working in chapter 8 and it is giving me fits so please bare with me. If I missed any please tell me. Thanks- Nyre

Jack didn’t have someone to help him through depression. He forced his way out of it. At least that’s what he thought. That’s what he hoped.
Jack has been feeling off lately, but he won't let anyone know that. At least at first. Once Mark realises what Jack has been going through it's up to him to convince jack that his presence makes a difference to the world. And Jack has to decide if the voice in the back of his head is worth leaving his friends, fans, and career behind.
