Summary
A modern-day AU. Wei Wuxian's family, the Jiangs, are worried about their adopted son/brother, as he's not doing much with his life after having graduated high school.
Madam Yu manages to get him a date with a young, very rich man, with the ultimate goal of marriage as predetermined by the uncle of Wei Wuxian's date -- if Wei Wuxian and this Lan Wangji are at all compatible.
Unfortunately, Wei Wuxian finds his partner to be excruciatingly boring. But he can't bring himself to turn the man down after just one encounter, so he decides to give Lan Wangji another chance. And another. And several more. Wei Wuxian soon realises that there's more to Lan Wangji than meets the eye.
This is a story about two young men learning to accept each other, themselves and helping each other to overcome their pasts.

Summary
Wei Wuxian finds himself haunted by dreams that seem more like memories of two men he's never met before, Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen. Then, one day he is saved by the mysterious florist, Lan Wangji. Both men discover they are the reincarnated lovers from their dreams. The more time they spend together they closer they become, but doubt lingers in the back of their minds. They start to wonder if the love between them is their own, or if it's fabricated by Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen's love for each other.
Meanwhile, Lan Xichen struggles against his Uncle's expectations for him and his desire to live his life on his own terms. Even though he's engaged to Jin Guangyao, who is of high social standings and fabulously wealthy, Lan Xichen's eyes can't help but follow the rough-around-the-edges auto body mechanic, Jiang Cheng.
Both couples work together to slowly unravel the truth that lead to Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen's untimely death, and to finally help the lovers move on.
