He felt a rush as he was hauled up from the ground and ushered outside. He couldn’t see the officer, but the strong grip on his arm was extra noticeable as he was guided to the curb.
It wasn’t until he sat down on the curb that he saw the officer properly. It was a man, and he was young. As Ilya looked him over, he quickly realized that this was perhaps the most attractive man he’d ever seen in his life. He had on his black pants, tactical belt, and black police polo covered by a thick vest. A silver badge shone on his chest. Ilya barely caught his nametag, 'Hollander'."
Or: A firefighter/police AU where Shane Hollander is 23 and just ended his rookie trial as a cop. Ilya Rozanov is a 29-year-old firefighter. Both have a complicated history with hockey.
