Nancy returns to Hawkins for her father's funeral as a very different Nancy Wheeler than her friends and family are familiar with. But she's good at pretending to be who they remember her as. Pretends that she let go of her violent tendencies and hadn't channeled them through targeting rapists. Pretends she doesn't know how to perfectly hide a body. Pretends she's satisfied with her independent but isolated life.
When she runs into a troubled Robin with a problem on her hands, Nancy struggles to pretend that she isn't still hung up on a moment that changed their friendship ten years ago. But the problem ends up being Vickie's husband, who Robin may have, accidentally, murdered.

“I’m fine. Things are going well. I…” Glinda hesitated. She tried not to ever say anything too sappy to Elphaba, who never knew how to accept such things gracefully, but she couldn’t help it. “I miss you,” Glinda admitted softly. Again, the line went silent for a beat too long. Glinda opened her mouth to soften the admission, but before she could, Elphaba’s quiet voice filled her ear.
“I miss you, too.”
After graduation, Elphaba and Glinda find themselves in separate cities and therefore apart for the first time in years. They keep in contact through letters, phone calls, and occasional visits. When Elphaba won’t stop being elusive about how she’s faring after being cut off financially, Glinda worries a completely appropriate amount. (She tries to offer a completely appropriate amount of help, too.)

Summary
Galinda and Elphaba met in 7th grade, and after a few weeks of bickering, they became attached at the hip. When they spend every waking second together, Elphaba develops her first crush on her best friend. Senior year, Elphaba confesses her feelings for Galinda. But when her confession results in an abrupt end to their friendship and leaves vague rejection in her wake, Elphaba has no choice but to let her go. Four years later, their paths cross again and Galinda still isn’t ready to admit how she felt. But luckily… her Elphie is patient.

Elphaba is going down the line, shaking each hand and trying her best to commit every name and face to memory. Until she gets to Galinda.
They lock eyes, Elphaba tries her best to read Galinda's expression before they explain to everyone that they already know each other. But before she can say anything, Galinda sticks out her hand and introduces herself as if Elphaba hasn’t committed the curve of each letter and the sound of each syllable to memory.
She smiles, a fake friendly smile, one you’d display for someone you’ve never met before. “Glinda.”
Well, technically, that is a new name.

Elphaba Thropp had grown up playing baseball with her brother Shell, so when the men of Oz get drafted to fight the rebels in the Unpassable Desert and the MLB puts on tryouts for a female-only league she jumps at the chance.
Galinda Upland does everything her parents tell her to - except for when she goes to baseball tryouts. Pleading with her parents to let her play, she promises she'll be a star. She would've been, except a green-skinned pitcher has taken the spotlight.
Put on the same roster, and then assigned to the same room - the girls end up loathing each other. Until they don't.

It was easy to tell herself that sleeping with Sara was just a one-time thing.
After all, there was literally nothing else to suggest it would be a recurring situation. Alex was still getting over Maggie, for starters. Things were awkward as hell, considering she’d never found herself in that situation before. Despite the fact that they’d ended on friendly hug-related terms.
That wasn’t even delving into the whole they were from literally different worlds, and the fact that Alex found herself solidly living in 2018 while Sara was a time-traveler. It was meant to be a one-time thing. A wedding hookup that had ended surprisingly well. It was that simple, and that easy to accept. Nothing to freak out about.
Their second time ends up happening three months later.
And eventually, she loses count.
