"Er— yes, a lot of people do," Gale cleared his throat defensively.
"It's just so… formulaic, don't you think? The characters fall in love with the snap of a finger! A single glance," Astarion jabbed an accusing finger against the page, "and I'm sure the rest of the story will revolve around intimate acts performed between stretches of inane miscommunication! Don't you ever get bored? It's so unrealistic!"
Gale believes in love at first sight. Astarion, allegedly, does not.

Clark comes home to find a DeLorean parked in the driveway. It's lifted on jacks. Bruce's feet are sticking out from under it, accompanied by a clanking sound.
"Um," Clark greets him.
The clanking stops. Bruce slides out on a mechanic's creeper.
"Oh. Hey."
"What are you doing...?"
Bruce almost, nearly, grins. There's a glimpse of teeth. There might even be a sparkle in his eye.
"You'll see."
When Clark found the listing seeking a roommate for an extremely cheap rent rate, he knew there'd be a catch. He just... didn't expect to be kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire with a homemade time machine.

A file was attached. Kal opened it to see a small creature almost completely composed of a large, limpid eye staring at him from the display.
Kal closed the report and rested his chin on his hand. His eyes found themselves staring at the blank screen of the gently pulsing scanner. He imagined Batman on that plane circling Starro's mothership. He imagined him collecting a tiny spore and taking that picture. He remembered that tiny, pink star with its huge, shining eye. Perhaps with the capability of being a tiny beacon--or even some sort of dangerous clone.
Kal was reluctant to admit it was slightly adorable.
Or: When the Justice League calls on the Caretakers for help caring for a certain world-conqueror's spore, Kal learns what it means to face his fears, and maybe even finds somewhere he belongs.

Alfred sighed and closed the book around one finger to keep his place. "Master Bruce. Please tell me you aren't going to that horrid little club in the Narrows again."
For all that he was Batman, trained in the art of bald-faced lying, Bruce managed to shuffle his feet and twitch his eyes toward the front door suspiciously. "I'm… not going to the horrid little club in the Narrows?"
"Yet, here you are, dressed for the club," said Alfred flatly.
Fed up with Bruce's playboy act, Alfred signs him up for an exclusive dating service, hoping that he will at the very least make a friend. On the other side of the bay, Lois gifts Clark with a voucher for that very same service, insisting that he needs to move on from their mutual breakup.
Neither one of them really wants a relationship, but they do want their loved ones to be happy. So they come to a mutually beneficial agreement.
It very quickly becomes something else entirely.
