He should have known, honestly, considering that it was a mad scientist’s lab, but the pollen spray was unexpected. It was supposed to be a routine mission, something straightforward, and while this is never easy, at least the goal was simple.

Till gave the paper a little shake. “C’mon, princess,” he teased, like his own words didn't have his heart racing. “Please and thank you — you really need me to teach you how to use your manners?”
A muscle jumped in Ivan’s jaw. His gaze flicked from the paper to Till’s grin, then to the floor. “...Thank you.”
“Thank youuuuu….?” he trailed off.
Ivan’s shoulders hiked up around his ears. Till didn't think he’d ever seen Ivan this embarrassed in his life. He was enjoying every second of it. He wished he could pull out his phone to take a picture — or fifty — without Ivan trying to kill him for it. “Thank you, Till.”
till hasn't seen ivan in over a decade, not since the older boy left for college and they drifted apart. now till's got the role as executive assistant to the ceo of anakt co., and till spends most of his waking hours up close and personal with an older, more serious, more perpetually exhausted version of ivan.
till doesn't give much of a shit about the job itself. ivan clearly won't take care of himself, so till will take care of him whether ivan likes it or not.

The second and third strikes land with a startling crack of sound. Ivan’s head turns with the impact, the sharp sound of skin-on-skin breaking through the silence. When Ivan drags his gaze back to Till’s, something jolts low in Till’s gut. Tears cling to Ivan’s lower lashes. Both of his hands are on Till’s wrist now, gripping tight — not pushing him away. Not trying to pry Till’s grip off his neck. Clinging to a lifeline. His hands are shaking. His whole body is shaking. He’s leaning forward, pressing his own throat into Till’s grasp.
till attends a prestigious conservatoire. he hates everyone there, but he hates ivan most of all. ivan doesn't know when to stop running his mouth. till knows exactly how to shut him up.

Immediately, she hops off–pouch in her hands. He lets out a soft whine in protest
“What happened to our plans?”
“Well, I never agreed.”
It's her turn to smile now.
Pressing a soft, fleeting peck to his cheek,–so close to his mouth it's agonising–she cups his bulge gently, pressing on it as he lets out a deep groan of pleasure. His hand shoots out immediately to keep hers there.
He's too late. She pulls away before he could reach it.
“I suggest you deal with that issue before the next client comes in,” she murmurs before giving him a wink and striding off.
Curse that blasted woman.

He should have felt relieved, even happy, but all he could remember was Derek's final expression—the quiet sadness and acceptance in his eyes as he pushed Avery from the ledge and chose to sacrifice himself. Avery had lost someone precious, and there was no way to explain that grief to friends who had never even known Derek.
Back in his original world, Avery built a small grave for him. It wasn't much, but he couldn't bear the thought of Derek disappearing without a trace. He visited often, leaving flowers each time, as though the gesture could somehow keep Derek's memory alive.
Then, during one of his visits, something rustled among the trees. A strange groan followed. Avery looked up, expecting a zombie.
Instead, a familiar figure stepped into view, golden eyes fixed on him.
Avery's breath caught.
