Summary
When Blake joined her first band, she was sixteen years old and had to be trimmed to fit the role. She wasn't that good of a bassist, he would say. He could find someone better, except that he wouldn't, because she was his girlfriend and he liked to indulge her. It bestows on her a niggling sense of doubt that never quite leaves her, that whispers in her ear even years later when she practices too late at night. That her music alone could never really be worth anything.
When she joins her second band, they write an album for her.
