And no one had the right to judge him for that, not when the love of his life was about to get married.
John needed at least one night with Gale in his arms before he loses him forever.

Charles’s face was half-buried in the pillow he was clutching, staring up at Max with wide eyes and blinking rapidly. Great, Max thought. He didn't have nearly enough data points on Charles Leclerc’s expressions to figure out what Monegasque wanted from him. Charles’s face lifted from the pillow, and he tilted his head with a sigh, rolling his eyes—if Leclerc rolls his eyes at him one more fucking time, he's out of here—he deciding to give Max a hint by pointing an index finger at his own chest.
“What about you...?” Oh. Realization dawned on him. Max cleared his throat quickly. This is stupid, he thought, it’s all Leclerc’s fault.
OR: Max forgot that he and Charles weren’t bound with love, but only bound together by a contract.

Unaware of Vecna's true plans and trapped under a military quarantine, our heroes will not only be forced to face the greatest evil from the Upside Down, but also overcome impossible odds, in order to save their town, and each other, one last time.
Written in a SCREENPLAY format, this fic operates as a diverging conclusion for the final season of Stranger Things.
