Summary
“Hey newbie. Ever worked in a bar before?” the guy asks with an easy smile. Steve snaps his eyes up to meet his, and shit they’re pretty. The greeting would be charming from anyone else, perhaps even from the guy himself if he’d not overheard the exchange moments before, but Steve’s insides curl at the condescension.
“Yeah. For about five years. Thanks. And my name’s Steve,” he responds, voice clipped. He yanks at the ties of his apron, knotting the bow just a little tighter than is comfortable. He’ll have to adjust it later, but the man’s dark eyes are roaming over him like he’s something edible, and there’s no way Steve’s going to give any indication whatsoever that he’s prey.
“Nice to meet you, Steve. I’m Eddie.”
Steve can’t prevent the way his face scrunches in confusion, because surely not. There’s no way that this is the Eddie. Sure, he’s not exactly hard on the eyes, but from the little Steve’s experienced of him so far, he seems like a major ass. The way Bridget had hyped him up, anyone would think fucking Jon Bon Jovi worked here.

when the upmarket cocktail bar Steve's working at goes out of business, he finds himself in desperate need of a job.

Eddie ignores the flip flopping in his stomach as he meets Steve’s gaze and fits his palms to either side of Steve’s jaw. Cradles his face like he’s something special now. (Because he is.)
And then he leans in to kiss him. Right on those pretty pink lips of his.
It’s short and sweet like it always is, but when Eddie pulls back and opens his eyes, he’s met with Steve’s, wide as fucking saucers, goggling unblinkingly back at him. He can feel Robin’s stare boring into the side of his face, can feel the tiny pinpricks of Nancy’s and Jonathan’s and Argyle’s on his back too. The whole room is quiet enough to hear a god damn pin drop.
Eddie is about to open his mouth and ask what the hell that’s all about when it finally catches up with him.
He just fucking kissed Steve fucking Harrington. On the mouth.

“Well, I mean if you really want me to leave now I’ll go, but aren’t you curious Eddie? Don’t you wanna see what’ll happen?” Steve said, reaching out to poke Eddie’s nose. Eddie actually thought about it for a second and quickly realized Steve was right; he did want them to stay.
“Ok you can stay, but just for the week.”
“Just for the week” Steve repeated, outstretching their pinkie in a promise, Eddie returned the gesture wrapping his pinkie around Steve’s.

Eddie pulls at the trunk of the Christmas tree, almost falling over as he manages to tip it off the roof of his Jeep and onto the sidewalk with a wobble.
“Woah there! Need a hand?” calls a voice from the other side of the tree.
Eddie pushes a branch out of his face to find an impossibly handsome and shirtless guy holding up his arm as if to grab the tree and assist Eddie’s pathetic attempt at moving it.
“Shit sorry man, did I get you?” Eddie asks breathlessly, trying in vain not to look at the thatch of alarmingly sexy hair on the guy’s chest.
Chesthair laughs, pushing his swooping hair out of his face, “no, you’re good, I’ve got quick reflexes. So, where are we taking this thing?”
This guy clearly isn’t from a big city if he’s so willing to stop whatever the fuck he’s doing wandering around shirtless in December to help a damsel in distress.And they say chivalry is dead.
A newly single Eddie Munson buys a Christmas Tree in December 1999, and is helped by a handsome stranger, Steve Harrington, who’s maybe not a stranger after all.

He usually doesn't do it for someone else, though, so he ends up not just surprising himself, but also Spiderman (whom he just roughly shouldered out of the way), *and* the guy who was trying to stab Spiderman in the gut and instead stuck his knife into Eddie. Or, from his perspective, into the costumed mercenary slash occasional vigilante known as Deadpool.
Eddie looks down at the knife, and back up at the man, who seems very surprised that Eddie is still standing.
"Jesus H. Christ, that could hurt someone," Eddie says, and shoots him point blank in the head.
