Some days, they work side by side. Hartley likes those days. He feels like there's no-one else in the world besides them. They'll work into the evening, ideas bouncing back and forth like echoes, ending with the promise of picking right up again the next day.
He likes having Wells to himself. He likes the in-jokes they develop. He likes the way Wells smiles when he's surprised by something Hartley says. Like he wasn't expecting someone to understand, like it was something he thought only he could know. Hartley never sees that look given to anyone else. And Hartley likes that Harrison has taken to calling him his guy.
