“Go on, wash yourself off in the lake, it’s safe now anyway.” Dandelion glanced at the lake with unmistakable longing, but dithered by Geralt’s side. “Go,” Geralt encouraged again. “It’s mere yards away, you’ll still be able to see me, and I’ll be right here when you’re done.” Dandelion, only slightly reluctant now, caved and approached the water tentatively, as though expecting a monster to jump out from the ripples. Perhaps that was exactly what had happened to cause this injury, August pondered, making himself shudder slightly.
Karina tapped him to get his attention, then signed, “I told you. Opposites attract. They are proof. You certainly have a chance with Lorna. She can be your strong muscle-bound lover, and you can be her weak-stomached dandy.”
August laughed. “Alright, that’s quite enough of that.”
Geralt cleared his throat. “I understand sign, you ought to know.”
Hanna, for her part, was well and thoroughly embarrassed, and hardly spoke another word until their work was done.
