“I saw a bar near the grocery store that has hermit crab racing,” Mike says over the top of his cozy mystery he borrowed from the front office.
“Oh, hell yeah,” Richie says, sitting up so fast he overbalances on his noodle and tips face-first into the water. “This is my destiny,” he sputters, sunglasses sliding off his face, “I was born to be Florida Man.”After Derry, the Losers take Mike to Florida, Bev remembers exactly who she is.

Summary
Bill is still sitting on the floor, back against the wall, where he was leaning and then just sort of deflated. “I don’t know what to do now,” he says, his eyes unfocused somewhere above Bev’s head. “I feel like I’m late for something, but I don’t know what.” A hank of hair falls in his eyes, that gray streak in the same place he used to get summer highlights from long days spent lazing in the quarry or the woods, so even now he doesn’t look old so much as sun bleached. The patina of age is shimmering on all of them.
“We need to get rid of the body,” Mike says.

“Do you think,” Bill says, and there’s something strange in his voice, something wistful. “Mikey, d-do you think there’s a version of this – of us – where we don’t separate?” He looks at Mike, then, directly. Eye-to-eye. “Where...where I don’t leave?”
It's been over two months since the reunited Losers' Club defeated IT, but Mike is still in Derry. He's definitely going to leave - any day now, really! Just as soon as he figures out where he wants to go, and what he wants to do. He keeps having these weird dreams, though, about his friend Bill, and things that happened and did not happen between them.

“What’s going on here exactly?” Richie asks, his voice sounding faint.
Up until this moment, Eddie has been acting pretty blasé about it. Like he isn’t a straight guy offering to – what? – make out with his very gay roommate. But maybe it’s the hoarseness coating Richie’s words that has him suddenly faltering, because now he’s pulling his shirt sleeves down over his hands and frowning.
“What? Is that weird? You said you missed kissing and like, it’s just kissing for me. And I need the fucking floor cleaned so I figured I do you a favour, you do me a favour.”

“How have you been here like, five hours and you’re running my shitty life already,” Richie grumbles, stifling a yawn. “Are there type-A dogs? Is that a thing?”
Hot dogs for breakfast, courtesy of chef Richie, who wonders aloud if this is like, cannibalism before he puts it on a plate in front of him. Being a dog sucks, Eddie thinks gloomily, thoughts thick with visions of steel-cut oatmeal and green juices and honeydew melon, although his new taste buds have decided that hot dogs are actually just fine. His mind is the same, unfortunately, and he has to keep himself from thinking too hard on macros and his sodium intake and whether or not hot dogs are gluten-free, because he’s already got a fragile grip on everything like this and he thinks he’d lose it entirely if he did. He’d spent forty years knowing his body, every little thing about it, maintaining it carefully, like a temple, and now he doesn’t know the first thing about it. In fact, he has no idea if dogs can even have gluten allergies.
