Summary
"What, aren't you going to invite me in for coffee? I'm early."
A little, quiet laugh. "The suit is asking why I didn't invite him inside? You should know your criminals better than that, Agent." The door shuts behind him. Caffrey begins to walk down the hallway, but Peter stays where he is.
"Should I be concerned, then?" He's expectant, unimpressed. Like a teacher asking a student to hand over their phone for having it out in class, he thinks wryly. After all, he did get up earlier this morning with the expectation of being invited inside. He'd like a quality shot of caffeine, true, but more than that, he needs to make sure his consultant isn't plotting anything where he thinks Peter can't see. It is in the criminal mindset to use every weak point and loophole in a given situation to their benefit.
(For the most part, Peter Burke represents the best of all FBI agents: he follows the rules, he catches bad guys, and he keeps his CI on a tight leash. Dick Grayson and Neal Caffrey are having a hard time coexisting, but the mission always comes first.
Well, you know what they say about Rome: it wasn't built in a day, but it burned in one.)

"If we deny our happiness, resist our satisfaction,
we lessen the importance of their deprivation.
We must risk delight. We can do without pleasure,
but not delight. Not enjoyment. We must have
the stubbornness to accept our gladness in the ruthless
furnace of this world. To make injustice the only
measure of our attention is to praise the Devil."

Summary
When Obi-Wan leaves the ship, Leia strapped to his front and Luke on his back, he doesn’t walk out onto the rendezvous he planned with Senator Organa. Instead, he’s on Mandalore—in the year after the battle of Ruusan. The Mandalorian Excision is on the horizon, the Jedi are being defanged, and the Sith still live.
The Jedi Master has been sent back a thousand years to save the Jedi Order, the galaxy, and, possibly, himself.
(Feat. Too much world building, political intrigue, a lot of Mandalorians, an unusual amount of OCs, and the Skywalker twins coming of age YA Disney Channel Original.)

Summary
“My name is Obi-Wan Kenobi, leader of the Young.” Obi-wan repeated, unwavering. “And I must speak to the Mand’alor about an urgent threat to his life.”
“How did you get this comm code, child?” the Mandalorian said, a disapproving tilt to his helmet.
“I am a General,” Obi-wan snapped, impatience taking over. “And I have limited time before Kyr'tsad breaks down the door. I’d very much like to get this sorted before then.”

Summary
If the squirrel no longer fears Yan, then he must find something that she does fear, and that is this. And this needs to be implemented in the garden immediately, if Yan hopes to protect any more tomatoes.
“My apprentice,” Sidious says, “I have noted that you have been absent from your post lately.”
“Taken ill, I have been, my master,” Yan says smoothly, as though he is not one such person who waltzes around town wielding a great, horned, plastoid bird.
Sidious blinks in a fashion that resembles the very same creature in Yan’s hands. Yan blinks back innocently.
“May we walk?” Sidious asks.
“We may indeed,” Yan says.
(Dooku joined the darkside because he thought it would take him away from a life tied up in red tape and, finding that what was awaiting for him on the other side of the Force was just more goddamn red tape, he moves out to the country to an old cottage and demands that his grandkids come help him set up a pig pen.)

the prose in this fic is really, really gorgeous -- there's a really nice balance of slick and creative phrasing alongside extremely effective simplicity. the pacing and tone is beautiful. i keep a screenshot of the 'what's it like to have siblings?' paragraph on my phone to reread and send to friends every now and then! brady & matthew's relationship (as well as the wider tkachuk family) is very compelling and honest. i really enjoy how the situation is slowly revealed to the reader; it adds a lot to the impact. the actual substance of this story makes me sooooo emotional, the homophobia is portrayed in such a realistic way while also maintaining matthew's own sense of self and how he might realistically react. this is one of my favorite hrpf oneshots, i really couldn't recommend it enough! i've read it thrice since it was posted and i'm sure i'll revisit it again. amazing work!!!!!
