“Yeah, sorry, just-” Pete huffs out a breath and leans in closer. “Planning my approach. There’s tactics involved,” He’s bluffing, mostly, half-joking - but he is, suddenly, very close to Patrick. He’s bracing one hand on the cushions just by Patrick’s head, kneeling next to him on the couch, and when he leans in enough to see the smudged traces of the makeup - he’s not at the right angle to feel the warmth of Patrick’s breath, but he’s basically close enough.
Patrick’s eye closes again, and Pete leans just that last little bit closer as brings up the cloth to brush it gently over Patrick’s eyelid.
Pete helps Patrick get his makeup off after the Halloween show. Then some other stuff happens. (Mostly talking)

Instinct, and muscle memory for a memory he shouldn’t even have, tells him to lean up and press a kiss to the corner of Pete’s mouth - but finally, something kicks in enough to tell him - that’s not right. That’s not something they actually do.
Patrick starts having dreams about kissing Pete, and starts struggling with telling dreams from reality, because the dreams seem to make so much sense. But surely there's a reason they haven't been kissing all these years - right?

Summary
Miles rips off the page and crumples it, making a small ball of it so he can toss it across the room.
He lets a few seconds pass before getting up on shaky legs to go for it.
The drawing it's actually really good, carefully, Miles looks over the details he managed to finish, like the jacket and Hobie platforms, the rest are still lines waiting to be finished, his face a sketch more than anything.
Not a lot of his drawings have this much attention to detail, and not many can convey this much care about the subject of it.
Instead of crumpling it up again, Miles decides to hide it back in his notebook, deciding to use his usual strategy when it comes to complicated feelings.
Everything goes under the rug. What he can't see, doesn't exist, right?

Or; it's not on purpose the first time it happens, but then the realization hits and drawing Hobie turns into an outlet for a pining Miles Morales.

Hobie smiles fully and the sides of his eyes crinkle and then he leans forward, the weight of his body resting somewhat sustainably on his hands. Every time Miles looks at Hobie he feels violently overwhelmed. He doesn’t know how to pull away and so he keeps getting caught on the other’s teeth and lips and the silver piercings decorating the landscape of his face.
