Summary
Lando Norris is supposed to be enjoying the off-season. Instead, a bad night in Monaco ends with him calling Oscar Piastri at three in the morning because he doesn't know who else to call. Oscar comes. And afterwards, neither of them knows how to go back. Oscar stays longer than planned, quietly taking care of Lando while Lando struggles with being seen at his worst. When the season begins, their friendship only gets closer, stranger, and increasingly difficult to explain. They notice each other too much. They know each other's habits. They have patience for each other that nobody else seems to deserve. Friends. Teammates. Best friends. Everything but lovers. As the season continues, both begin falling apart in ways the other is forced to notice. Lando insists everything he feels is because Oscar is his best friend. Oscar wishes his feelings for Lando were something simpler. But neither of them is convincing. The question isn't whether they've fallen in love. It's how long they've been pretending they haven't.

Obviously Lando did not feel sorry for winning the championship, that would be stupid.
It would also be stupid to feel sorry for your teammate who did not win it, that was not what the sport was about.
So why did he keep apologising to said teammate every five minutes?

Bedsharing is common sense amongst the dwarves. Heating the cold stone of Ered Luin is difficult and resource intensive, not to mention sleeping with kin is considered a marker of safety and closeness.
Sometimes, despite their penchant for producing hoards of faunts, even hobbit couples don't share beds, especially in the upper class families. It's common sense. Your spouse might snore or wake up for breakfast earlier than you. Sleeping with friends or family once you're no longer the youngest of faunts? Unheard of, and odder than Rudagar's rutabaga-shaped back mole besides.
Or: Bilbo is very confused, and the company doesn't understand and insists.
