Roy Mustang is a chemistry professor who feels very qualified to become Central University’s Chemistry Department’s new Head after Dr. Maes Hughes reveals he wants to step down. Unfortunately, Maes doesn’t exactly feel the same way. Something about how his research isn’t as interesting anymore, or how his graduate students aren’t producing as impactful research as some of his colleages’ students. While Roy disagrees, he knows what he must do.
While at a conference, he attends the session of masters student Edward Elric which completely knocks his socks off. So much so that he needs to recruit Edward to work under him right now (and get some new socks). Of course, he’s going to find that Edward Elric isn’t the easiest to work with. In fact, he’s infuriating. Yet, Roy can’t deny, he’s as frustrating as he is enigmatic. When he really looks at him, he’s pretty stunning, a thought that has ‘Title IX Violation’ written all over it.
