Summary
The Sector refuses to bow to Union interference. The Corpros' reach threatens the livelihood and independence of the small, petty corporate fiefdoms lording over the billions toiling under their impassive gaze. This is a land of opportunity and violence, where empires can be built and lost in the span of hours, consigned to the dustbin of history, forgotten by the galaxy at large. In this fertile chaos, a small, supposedly inconsequential company carries out the will of its mysterious patron, paving her way to a glorious future. Whether she succeeds or fails, the actions of her subordinates will shape the Sector's fate for generations to come. This tale recounts the misadventures of one such group of subordinates, a unit of Lancers tasked with carrying out the thoughest operations necessary to further her aims. Their operations are deniable, their repeated deaths an expected necessity, their foes mighty and merciless. And yet, they soldier on.

Summary
After being randomly scouted for a commercial fishing position by Ahab, a madwoman of a captain who swears she saw her in a dream, Ishmael is suspicious. However, once she learns more about it, she decides to take her up on her offer. She desperately needs a job, any job — and it helps that this particular job will get her closer to Queequeg, a beautiful girl whom she met by chance during an insomnia episode.
Queequeg is an interesting person, someone who stands out on an island where so many people try to be the same, and Ishmael wanted to fall headfirst into her world. However, as she discovers more about Ahab's motivations, she wonders if she's in for more than she bargained for.
