Din almost lost Grogu on Gideon’s ship. No one came to their rescue and they survived by the skin of their teeth. So Din swears that he will do whatever it takes to keep Grogu safe.
Together they go to an isolated planet in the Outer Rims that is just starting to be inhabited by refugees from the galaxy’s various wars. There a stoic man and his odd green foundling won’t be of much consequence to anyone. Except for the strange blond man who seems to know more about things than he lets on.
Chapter 7 Excerpt:
”Mister Mando–“ Luke reached up, hand brushing over the bandana covering Din’s face.”Din.”
”Pardon?”
“My name. Din.” Din felt his face warm under the fabric and Luke’s gentle touch.
Luke’s smile grew impossibly wide. “I’m honored.” He took his hand away and Din immediately felt the loss.

“That implies that I should be worried,” The man —Din— pointed out, using his hip to lean against the bedpost by his feet. Luke reached forward and set the glass on the tray. “Should I?”
The sun lit up his brown hair, catching every curl that glowed red and amber. Luke met his gaze head-on. “I’m not a threat, if that’s what you’re implying.”
Luke didn't take into account how he could get tossed into the sea when he was on that mission; he didn't think he'd wake up in someone else's house.
There were a man, his baby, and his dog, you see. You'd have to understand — Luke wanted to be a part of it.

Summary
Times are changing around the galaxy, but so many still view omegas as weak and lesser. Omega Obi-Wan has tried to hide what he is for most of his life, thanks to prejudice and trauma from his childhood. What Obi-Wan never expected was to find an army of clones, composed of alphas and betas, who view the dynamics in a completely different way than the majority of the galaxy. As time goes on, his relationship with the Vode Pack grows and develops to a point where Obi-Wan starts to find a confidence and pride in being an omega that he’d never thought he’d feel. He also learns that there’s a difference in what the galaxy thinks is alpha and what Alpha really means.
This story comes in at a point where Obi-Wan is just starting to feel safe and comfortable with the Vode. We follow him as his relationship with the troopers starts to evolve, with possible flashbacks giving glimpses into the past, and all building to a future that is far different than Obi-Wan ever expected for himself as an omega.

That tone sent shivers unrelated to the water down Din’s spine. The urge to lash out filled his lungs, but he pushed back on it.
“You two have history,” he said as evenly as he could.
He turned and found the Jedi’s face completely void of emotion. His eyelashes were darker, though. Din could see them clearly even from across the river.
“Do not bring him here,” the Jedi said.

Luke realizes in about a second that he has a weakness, and it’s guys with kids. More specifically, hot dads who, by all accounts, look like they can rip off your head if you so much as look at them the wrong way, but who turn into a soft mush whenever their kid is around. And Din, sporting a black leather jacket and a whipped cream mustache at the same time, definitely fits the bill.
Din Djarin is about to give up on finding a good babysitter for his adopted son, Grogu. He thinks it'll be impossible to find someone who can respond to Grogu's needs without hurting his kid even more than he's already been hurt. Enter Luke Skywalker, who not only seems to be perfect at handling Grogu's unique characteristics, but he might also be a perfect match for his father as well.
