If there was any one thing that would get Din to join the Rebellion it was this pretty boy who had shown up on the holo-net out of nowhere. He was an X-Wing pilot, judging by the uniform - a tight orange jumpsuit, tousled hair, and a face too pretty for war, in Din’s opinion.
Din spends years looking at and fantasizing about the Rebellion pin-up boy, only to find out nearly a decade later that his flyboy fantasy is the last Jedi and his son's new teacher.

You try your damnedest to burn it out, but Luke’s face sticks in your head. Lingers like a whiff of ozone, and no matter how hard you try to forget it when you close your eyes behind the visor of your helmet, there’s the haunting outline of his lips mapped out in your head like a constellation. His mouth. His eyes. His single bare hand, ever so gently cupped around Grogu’s body like he knew how important it was to you that he be touched like he was precious.
And it must have worked, because you let Grogu go with him. Maybe that’s why you can’t stop thinking about that moment—how it felt to hold unwavering and long sustained eye contact with a man for perhaps the first time in the whole of your lonely life.

Certain things were expressly forbidden to discuss – the universe being the ultimate deciding factor on when they would meet. They couldn’t tempt their own fate by rushing to be together; they simply had to make their separate life choices and hope to find each other at the right time.
My take on soulmates in the SW universe. Luke and Din have been meeting in their dreams since they were very young. OT and the Mandalorian seasons happen - very moderate changes coming, but all will be explained.
