From the bored expression on his face — as well as the rehearsed tone of Master Gojō’s instantaneous response — Megumi could almost be forgiven for assuming the two men had had this discussion before.
‘And I have no intention of fighting you, so where does that leave us?’ When he didn’t receive an answer, Master Gojō grinned, extending a palm towards the darksider and beckoning for the talisman with a crook of his fingers. ‘Hand it over, Suguru.’

Summary
Satoru doesn't survive the fight with Fushiguro Toji. He dies, cold and alone, leaving behind only a curse with a taste for carnage. Suguru brings that curse to his lips, swallows down the remains of his best friend, his one and only. Satoru didn’t need to follow Suguru’s gaze to know that it was locked on the boy at his hip. He didn’t need to look down to know that Megumi was scowling right back at the cursed spirit manipulator, still too young and angry at the world to understand that there were some fights he shouldn’t pick.
And he didn’t need to ask to know exactly what Suguru saw in that unruly mess of black hair, that snarl of a mouth, that piercing emerald glare. Because Satoru saw him sometimes, too.
Three years after Fushiguro Tōji upended their lives, Satoru and Suguru 'bump into' each other on the darkest day of the year.
