Summary
The Phantom Thieves have nearly secured their route through Maruki's Palace. There’s only one section left: The Twilight Corridor. A paradise where everything is perfect, and everyone is always smiling.
In order to enter that place, the Thieves must first prove they've "completed orientation" and can be "happy." There are points, there is a scoreboard, and they’re locked together in an experimental space where wishes can be granted by simply saying them aloud. Everyone has to individually earn 100 happiness points, or no one is leaving.
So what is “happiness,” really? How does Maruki define happiness? What the hell is a quantifiable happiness point? Is there any way around this? Don’t these stupid kids realize this is a trick to get them to fall back into the thrall of Maruki’s reality? And why can’t Goro earn any fucking points?
(Or: I've been watching too much Dropout Game Changer and I’ve built an Akechi torture chamber.)

Summary
After the Metaverse collapsed, everyone moved on. Not Akira, though. What was Akira without Joker, without his arsenal of masks, without the purpose that had made his unsatisfying life whole? His parents despise him, his hometown believe he's a murderer, and Shido's conspiracy follows him everywhere he goes. There had always been more to Akira than Joker, though. Maybe, if he sees himself through his friends' eyes and lets someone special in, he can escape this dark, dangerous spiral.
Someone like Goro Akechi.
A companion piece to my Akeshu fic Chase the Joker, but can be read as a standalone.

“October Twentieth, Twenty One Twenty One. Today, we will resume Phase Four of the Endurance Trials. Specimen has proven over the course of the last three to be extremely resilient to all—
(A horrific screech, unlike anything Akira had ever heard before, drowned out Wakaba’s voice.)
—dosage has been increased to test—
“Stop!”
“—specimen’s—Akechi-san? What are you doing?”
“Isshiki, tell them to stop. This is wrong. Just look at him! Look at what we’re doing to him!”
“The specimen—”
(There was another gut wrenching shriek)
“For Godsakes, Isshiki, he has a name.”
(There was a huff—or a sigh—it was hard to decipher through the quality of the audio recording)
“We can’t let ourselves get attach—“
“Don’t give me that bullshit! Goro, He—”
“He isn’t human, Suzume! We know almost nothing about his species! He imitates humans, but that doesn’t m—“
“Do you even hear yourself? God, what happened to you Isshiki?”
“If you won’t stop this, then I will.”
“Su-Suzume, you can’t—Suzume—YOU CAN’T GO IN THERE.”

Summary
Placed in a new foster home two months before he turns eighteen, Goro Akechi tries to prepare for the inevitable moment when he will be left to the mercy of the society that has punished him ever since he was born to the wrong person under the wrong circumstances. But when he is granted access to another world on the first day of his new school - a world of monsters and demons, of cognition and real-life consequences - he knows that he has finally been given a chance to change his situation, and maybe track down the nameless absent father who left him and his mother to die.
And finally punish him and everyone else who made his life a living hell.
(A Role Swap AU, where Akechi is both leader of the Phantom Thieves and murderous vigilante.)

Summary
For Freminet, taking the brunt of what he thought was an acid attack aimed towards Spina di Rosula's boss was nothing more than a split second decision. He wouldn't call himself a hero by any stretch of the imagination, and he wouldn't say he led his life with noble and virtuous intentions either...
...but when the urge to help someone comes to him, he ponders little over it. That's just what a good person would do, and Freminet desperately wants to be a good.
(Still, maybe he should have paid more attention to just what was being splashed.)
OR
Freminet dissolves into water. That really should have been the end of it, but it seems like the ocean wasn't keen on letting him go yet.
