Summary
The funny thing about soulmates is that there was one for everyone.
Not everyone would meet theirs, and would go on to leave happy and healthy (usually) lives with their self chosen significant other. Those that did meet theirs, though, were destined to be together no matter their circumstances.
(This rings especially true for Dazai and Chuuya.)

Shouto is buried under a building after trying to capture a villain, and he can do nothing but slowly bleed out and say his goodbyes over the phone, while his friends try to get him out of the rubble.
