Summary

After some pestering, Katsuki begrudgingly became Ochako’s dog sitter for the week. It’s not that he had a problem with the mutt. Mochi was adorable, and even he had grown to care for the energetic Dalmatian. Not that he would ever let Ochako know he had a soft spot for the dog. Still, he had put up a front, ultimately accepting to take care of his best friend’s dog for her in exchange for free dinner.

Hitoshi hears someone step into the make-shift infirmary the moment the door closes behind Recovery Girl and Hitoshi doesn't even have to look to know who it is because he was expecting this.
It was his one big fear, attending the Sports Festival and trying to make as much of an impact as he could, ranking even higher than embarrassing himself and now it’s happening, just like he expected.
Still, he's glad for the cool wet cloth Recovery Girl put on his eyes because Hitoshi doesn't know if he's ready for this even though he knew it was coming and at least like this he still has a little bit of time left but when he feels someone step up to his bed he knows it's out of his hands.

"What's the occasion?" Yamada wants to know after a while and Hitoshi presses his lips together.
Trust Yamada to figure out that this is not for nothing. He really is too perceptive for his own good, but Hitoshi is not going to tell. Not yet.
He has plans, after all.
"Can't I just make breakfast?" he asks and he can practically feel Yamada's gaze burning in his back.
"You can. You just generally don't, and especially not at this time. And this seems planned, with how you had everything ready rather than a spur of the moment thing, so what's going on, kiddo?"
Hitoshi turns around to him, briefly forgoing his preparations and he levels Yamada with a look.
"I have a plan and you're going to let me stick to it," he simply says, not explaining anything else, because that part comes later and to his credit, Yamada immediately nods.

"We have a crisis. We're in crisis mode," he finally gets out and Hitoshi nods.
He kind of already took that away from Katsuki's unusual behaviour so he takes Katsuki's hands in his and squeezes them once.
"Okay, what's happening?"
"It's bad, Toshi, it's really bad," Katsuki gets out and there's an uncharacteristic fear in his eyes, one Hitoshi has only very rarely seen.
"We'll deal with it like we always do, Kats, no worries, you just have to tell me what's going on."
Hitoshi tries to stay calm and composed but seeing Katsuki so obviously distraught is setting his every nerve ending on fire and it almost feels as if he has to fight something immediately, if only to get those jitters out.
"My parents know I moved," Katsuki breathes out, his voice shaking and he clings to Hitoshi's hands so hard that it's almost painful.
Hitoshi takes a moment to digest that because that is like the worst case scenario for Katsuki right now.
