Summary
Andrea Trevelyan would give anything, anything in the world, to make sure the people she loves are safe. She followed her siblings to the Conclave expecting that the Revered Mother of her Chantry was correct and her ability to talk sense into people would be necessary to prevent fights. She never expected that anything bad might happen there. No one did.
Still, bad things somehow have a habit of happening when one least expects them, and sometimes they inadvertantly lead to good outcomes. Andrea is reunited with her childhood best friend, the woman she's loved since she was old enough to understand what love is, Josephine Montilyet. And what's more, there's now a child--an innocent victim of the disaster--who has decided Josephine is the next best thing to a mom all things considered. Andrea won't stand for anyone else getting hurt, and if that means learning to fight--and potentially kill--to protect Josephine and her new apprentice, Andrea may have to do just that.

There's so many things to do, so many people that need to be brought to Haven--or are finding their own way there. Like it or not, Andrea knows, as the Herald of Andraste she's at the center of everything now, which means she'll need to get used to surprises.

Summary
The longer Andrea stays in Haven, the more she regrets the day her eldest brother took the throne in Ostwick--as that was the day she lost contact with the person she loved most in the world--and the more she begins to wonder if maybe it truly was Divine Intervention that led her to Haven in the first place. Not necessarily because she's supposed to save the world, she thinks, but rather because now she has a chance to change her fate and win back the woman she lost to her brother's bigotry so long ago.
Once, when she was young and selfish, Lady Josephine Montilyet accused her mother of lying because of something she hadn't even understood the significance of. With no knowledge of the bigotry that tore them apart, she continued for years attempting to contact the love she'd lost the day Tomas Trevelyan took the throne. Now fate has seen to it that that woman is back in her life, but she's changed so much. Josephine isn't sure she even wants the answer to why the love was lost between them.

Summary
There's not much Leliana isn't aware of in Haven, sometimes because she's the Spymaster, other times because people happen to be talking where she can hear them. Usuaully, if something happens in Haven, Leliana is aware of it. Lately, most of the focus has been on the Herald of Andraste--Andrea Trevelyan, and after Andrea allows Leliana to overhear a conversation between her and a chantry sister from Ostwick, Leliana starts to wonder just how much of the reason Andrea is in Haven is truly coincidence, and how much just might actually be Divine Intervention.

Lena's been a cashier for as long as she can remember, which isn't long thanks to an accident she had that affected her ability to properly categorize memories, and sometimes interesting things happen to her. By far more interesting to her than the things customers do or say to her, however, is what another cashier is doing with her. She's always wanted a girlfriend as pretty as Emily, and honestly she isn't quite prepared to handle it when it happens, but she'll get there (she hopes).

Masquerade parties have always been some of Amélie's favorite parties to attend. The masks allowing her to hide who she was, not in a deceptive way, but in a way that allowed her a confidence she had lost. She never really thought much of herself until she became a Hunter, seeking out monsters and putting an end to them. It gave her life some purpose after she was unceremoniously cut from the ballet in the past.
After marrying a vampire, Comte Gérard Lacroix, masquerades became Amélie's favorite kind of party to host. She enjoyed seeing the kinds of people that would show up to them (and the kind of monsters that would arrive, knowing that a masquerade would be the only time they'd be welcomed at any kind of event). Though externally she enjoyed seeing who would show up, internally she was often worried about which party would bring the hunters--wanting to end her and her husband--to her door.
She never suspected that when the hunter did arrive, it wouldn't be because of her or her husband at all.

“No,” Lena snapped back. “I’ll kill these bastards if they lay one single claw on Emily.”
Fareeha turned her head toward the other two werewolves there with them. These were likely the same ones that had attacked Lena the year before. She couldn’t exactly blame Lena for being angry with them, especially not now when they’d put two innocent people in danger, but this was a pack fight. Despite it being pretty even odds, two against two, they couldn’t fight both of them and win. Lena wasn’t strong enough for that.

Angela never wanted to like anyone. It was much safer to be alone, nothing could hurt you like that. Or, that's what she thought. But being a doctor, one who was also a combat medic and spent time with Doctors Without Borders, had a way of hurting people that no medicine could ever heal.
Fareeha's never really understood quite how she feels about Angela. Remembering her love for Angela as nothing more than a childhood crush, in their years apart she'd almost forgotten the doctor. But for a soldier, one who's been to hell and back, the past doesn't always stay in the past, and things forgotten resurface in unexpected ways.
