Ben is a masters student looking to get away from his family for a year. Rey is an art preservation and restoration student looking to enhance her resume, and gain some really solid work/study experience before graduation. They both apply at, and get into, a study-abroad program in Rome.
Both of them decide to travel through Europe the summer before.
Both of them end up in Nice.
Both of them are a little impulsive, and a little too love-drunk on each other to wonder if this is a good idea.
(Spoiler: They think it's a great idea. Ben, in particular, doesn't think he's ever had a better idea. Bens parents on the other hand... now that's an interesting story)

Five days into his year-long study-abroad program, still suffering from jet-lag and half sunburned across his face and shoulders from his beach trip to Nice with his new friend Poe, he says he knew it was her from the moment he met her.
Granted, the cherry red bikini and the first English he (never mind the English accent) had heard since landing probably helped in that regard. Didn’t make her easy to miss, at the very least.

The first time she sees him, Rey Niima nearly drops her coffee straight onto the greige carpeted floor of the office she’s currently temping in. She, quite literally, nearly falls head over heels as she stumbles over to her desk and clutches her little Starbucks cup in her palms.
She breathes a sigh of relief, looking down and quickly licking splashed coffee from her fingers as Rose slides up next to her desk with frightening speed. “New client, on your nine.” She giggles, as Rey shoots a playful but warning glance at her.
She’s already seen him, she’s already seen the schedule, she just wasn’t expecting… that.
More appropriately, she wasn’t expecting him to be the size of a fucking sequoia.
