Summary

“How would you like to come back to Korea?” Woojae says, and Fuma can’t control a brief snort of laughter. He takes another swig of Pocari and feels the chill of the December air biting into his cheeks.
“Hyung, is this a joke?”
“Never,” Woojae says, with that same tone he’d use when Fuma was one of his dance pupils. Woojae had been the only person in Seoul Fuma had trusted with his dilemma over whether to go back to Japan when COVID hit. He’s blunt and opinionated, but Fuma’s sure he genuinely cares about the trainees he mentors.
“Listen,” Woojae continues. “Did you watch that survival show this year, I-LAND?”

“No strings,” he adds quickly in an attempt to save himself. “It can just be casual.”
Nicholas gives him a long look that makes Euijoo squirm and almost take it back but then he bobs his head in agreement.
“Casual, sure.”
They do end up doing it again. Over and over. It’s always good, too good. It’s also always bad. It leaves Euijoo sinking deeper and deeper into something he already didn’t know how to handle. And it has to be casual, is the thing. Too much could be messed up otherwise and Euijoo has too many responsibilities to be the one to risk it. But Euijoo has never, as long as he’s known Nicholas, been even a little casual about him and he’s quickly losing the ability to pretend.
(OR: Euijoo starts sleeping with Nicholas, then he tries to stop. He tries to stop so many times but never quite succeeds.)

His fingertips graze the fabric of Harua's sleep shirt—the touch is barely that—but Harua flinches, something akin to a shudder running down his spine. “Don't.” He snaps.
It's like a switch is flipped, and Maki is 15 again, staring down the boy he likes as he tells him off for being too much, too loud, too touchy—all on national TV, just so Maki knows he means it. The other boys nodding along because they already know. He already told them.
And Maki listened even if what K told him about Harua contradicted everything he thought he knew, even if Harua does more daily to refute his claims that Maki acted alone. He's been well trained, he supposes. He almost doesn’t notice when Harua touches the other members like he loves them. He tries desperately not to notice when Harua touches him.

There are a million reasons why Euijoo should say no. He hasn’t seen Nicholas in eight years. Who knows how much they both have changed? Euijoo certainly isn’t the same eighteen-year-old who left Japan, and he doesn’t know who Nicholas is anymore. This could end so poorly. It’s only in recent years that he has managed to lacquer his broken edges back together again, and yet here he is, going willingly into the waiting arms of the person who shattered him.
