Summary
Tarquin's life was defined by the armor he wore.
A series of vignettes over the course of Tarquin's life, from his childhood until sometime after canon events.
Note: This story starts with a young pre-transition Tarquin, but in that scene does not use his deadname and he is already referring to himself with he/him pronouns, but does deal with his discomfort in being seen as a girl.

Summary
“You finally ready to play nice now?” Ashur says, voice still too calm, the way it too often is with Tarquin—in the way that makes Tarquin want to hit him over the head with a chair sometimes, just to get a fucking reaction out of the guy.
Tarquin doesn’t answer. Nice isn’t what he’s expecting from this. What he wants is for Ashur to take what he needs, to release his built up frustration and anger so they can move on. He wants any hurt to be put in the past and to know they’re okay again. At least until the next time one of them does something to piss off the other.
Ashur squeezes his hold, a warning.
“Depends,” Tarquin grits out, trying not to wince. “Would you even trust I’m not doing it with some ulterior motive of gaining His Excellency’s trust?”

Summary
“Maker’s fucking tits, Ashur,” Tarquin sighs. He glances down at the open notebook with its complicated web of connections. “So this is, what? Your notes about who’s banging who?”
Ashur winces. “Who’s in a relationship with whom,” he corrects.

Summary
Minrathous has fallen. In the ruins of a collapsing cathedral, Tarquin holds the body of the man he loved—Divine, saint and stubborn fool—and prays for a miracle that will never come. There’s no magic left, no rescue, only memory and ash. But even as the end creeps closer, Tarquin chooses to stay. To love. To be grateful.
No dialogue. Just grief, devotion, and the last breath shared between two men who were never meant to last—but did anyway.

Bookmarker's Notes
Literally the hardest, realest feeling of grief and love. My heart broke reading this and every time I think about it, I tear up. This is so fucking good and so fucking painful.
