Su-ho pinched the bridge of his nose. No. This was it. Surely even Seong-je couldn’t let that slide.
But Seong-je only chuckled. “That’s a crit item. Buy that. Yeah, perfect. Nice.”
Nice? Su-ho wanted to scream. If this had been anyone else feeding 0/7 by ten minutes, Seong-je would’ve been inventing a new curse word to yell at them. He muted himself again, laughing silently in disbelief.
He knew the evil that lived inside Keum Seong-je. He had seen it. Had lived through it, experienced it first hand. If it were anyone else, Seong-je would’ve been tearing them to shreds. Su-ho had seen him make complete strangers cry in solo queue. In quickplay. In unranked, and ranked, in customs, in any playable gamemode.
So… What the fuck was this?

Summary
Seongje shivered. It was mid-March —the kind of spring that still tasted faintly of winter. The light outside was bright but thin, and the room kept a trace of the overnight chill. He instinctively pulled the blanket higher around them.
"Hey," Seongje whispered, his voice still rough from sleep. His lips brushed Hyuntak’s cheek as he spoke. "Birthday boy… wake up."
Hyuntak let out another groan, this time more articulate —still half asleep, but definitely registering the words. His fingers curled lazily into Seongje’s shirt, tugging him closer.
"Puppy…"
There it was. That cute sound again.

At some point during the summer of their senior year in high school, Go Hyuntak stops hearing anything in his left ear.
The change happens gradually. Halfway through the year, he starts turning up the volume on his earbuds while listening to music. Near final exams, he gets used to walking on Baku’s left side so he can hear with his right.
In the third week of July, Geum Seongje gives him one good slap on the cheek and his hearing is gone before the initial sting has even dissipated.

He could've easily looked it up himself, but decided that, considering the sub's inexperience, it would be better for Seongje to unwind a little before joining him.
Trembling ever so slightly, the girl held a smaller piece of paper up to her face, then took a deep breath before uttering the answer with a precise intonation.
"It says 'Humin.' Hu-min."
Seongje's fingers jolted, then froze with the knot lowered just underneath the top button of his dress shirt.
"Humin... Humin? Is that someone's goddamn name?"
