Summary
When the elderly Elidibus suddenly and unexpectedly returns to the star, Azem gets dragged back to Amaurot to help fill in the gap left by the missing Convocation member. To keep the former Elidibus's work moving apace, Azem, Nabriales, and a very tired Chief of the Bureau of the Architect are tapped to split up Elidibus's workload while the Convocation tries to appoint a new Elidibus. With both extra work and the unpleasant prospect of hours upon hours of bureaucratic committee meetings, nobody is happy. But at least Elidibus left them a very bright young executive assistant, Themis, who is more than eager and willing to offer his assistance.
And a certain Dionysius still owes his two best friends a feast. And dessert.

Summary
“The Raucous Revelry recently commissioned me and a colleague to make something to add to the dungeon.” Hythlodaeus began explaining without missing a breath. He clearly knew his ploy would work. Why even bother with the subterfuge if all it took for Hades to acquiesce was the mention of Azem surpassing him, even if only in his open-mindedness for a bizarre sexual encounter? “We’re to demo our new creation during the next play party, and we need a subject for our demonstration.”
Hades narrowed his eyes and stole a glance at Hythlodaeus who grinned and looked eminently proud of himself. “And you’d like me to be that test subject.”
“I think you’d do the role well, yes."
Hythlodaeus is ready to demo a new creation for Amaurot's premier play party, the Raucous Revelry, but he needs a test subject for the public demonstration. Who better than Hades?

Hades rolled his eyes. “To you, Hythlodaeus, and to you, Dionysius.” He tapped his glass against each of theirs. “I’m not saying I love you, but...” he trailed off and shrugged, the unspoken words plenty clear.
Hades, Hythlodaeus, and an Azem named Dionysius (and a feline familiar named Shanoa) spend New Year's Eve drinking on the top of the Bureau of the Architect. It's well-known that the Bureau has the best view of the city!

Hythlodaeus leaned closer, his breath hot against Hades's ear. “Shall I lead tonight, my dear? Make all of the decisions?” Hades felt the smile against his ear, his lips twisting up. “Would you like to give me that kind of control—”
“Yes,” Hades gasped. He'd never wanted something more than to give it all to Hythlodaeus. To let go of everything for just a little bit. Leave his life in the hands of the one he trusted the most. Just for an hour, maybe two. Hades nodded. “Yes.” He sounded more confident now. “You're in control of everything tonight.”
The smile against his ear grew broad, and Hythlodaeus planted a wet, loud kiss against his ear. “I will take such good care of you tonight. You don't have to worry about a thing.”
With some clever words, and a leather gift, Hythlodaeus convinces Hades to accompany him to a bondage play party. Subspace has never tasted so sweet.
