Summary
Aladin couldn’t sleep. Dark bags were just beginning to form under his eyes. He had to take watch, as it was clear that the famished man wouldn't be able to fend for himself if anything happened. Besides, even if he tried to shut his eyelids to rest, he'd only be interrupted by the sounds of Florante whimpering or sobbing in his sleep. It only made him feel pity for the man. Earlier that week, he had tried to ask the blonde warrior for the origins of his misfortune, and the two had discovered their distant connections, formed through conflict and war. It was understandable to him that Florante's pains did not only come from the wounds, and bruises on his fractured body— but his aching heart.
