Summary
Double Life with Etho and Joel but reimagined as a game show. I'm including a few other ships but the focus is Boat Boys. There may be a few chapters where it is another ships POV (Like Impdubs, Desert Duo, and Ranchers). For my plot I'm not exactly following what happened, but I will stay true to a few things and I will reference a few series' outside of double life that I think tie in well for characters. I also can't promise things being chronological (Ex: the bad boys) I feel like Etho and Joel's relationship is the way it is because they were forced together.

Summary
Joel Beans is tired of life. He's been floating through mist for five years, no end in sight. So when his longtime friend Grian gets him his first real job, well, ever, Joel is out of his depth. Especially concerning the guy who's been assigned to show him around- the famous redstone prodigy, Etho Slab. Joel can't quite put his finger on it, but something about Etho feels different. From the moment they meet, Joel finds himself confused... and more than a little grudgingly hopeful to learn more about the redstoner.
Joel Beans used to be full of joy and energy. Despite his background, where he grew up, he always had that dream of becoming a famous architect. It kept him going through school bullies, broken hearts, and friends who were having just as hard a time as he was. All through this, ever since eighth grade, his girlfriend Lizzie Shadow was there with him. She climbed the ladder up and out in a way no one else could, and Joel wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
Until one day, she was gone.

This is a dual narrative. There are two tales being told here- Joel's past, and his present. How he fell in love, how it ended, and how he fell in love again.

Summary
The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

Grian is a vet. After a chance encounter in the dead of night, during which he accidentally saves a villain from the brink of death, he suddenly finds himself entangled in a world beyond anything he could've ever imagined.

Grian presumed his soul was actively leaving his body – providing him with just another last minute delusion to take him into the next life - until he heard music.
His tired delusions were a lot of things, but they were never music.
Grian blinked, once, twice, then a third time. Still, the shape on the horizon didn’t fade. The light didn’t fade. The music didn’t fade. This wasn’t the blurry shadow of what may or may not be a rock, or the light of the moon against a wave imitating a town. This was a genuine miracle. This was his relief.
