Summary
When Chelsea has to take a break due to her pregnancy, her best friend Celine gets voluntold to take her spot on Project Fear—a YouTube ghost-hunting show full of creaky buildings, night vision, and grown adults screaming at shadows. Armed with zero experience, questionable bravery, and an unshakable fear of basements, Celine joins the team to help out. Unfortunately, no one tells her Dakota wears that hoodie like a romantic threat.
What starts as one girl’s descent into haunted buildings and EMF readings turns into a slow-burn romance with the emotionally constipated cameraman who insists ghosts are definitely real (and so are his very intense opinions on flashlight etiquette and proper door-closing protocol in haunted locations). Between chasing shadow figures, losing walkie-talkies, and arguing over who definitely farted in the crypt, Celine and Dakota discover that the scariest thing of all… might be catching feelings.
Ghosts? Maybe.
Love? Definitely.

"Kenma! I'm coming in!" Kuroo comes thundering up the stairs of the Kozume household. For the first time in fifteen years, Kenma's bedroom door is locked. "What- Kenma? Why is your door locked?" He tries the knob again, but the door doesn't budge. An overwhelming feeling of dread fills Kuroo's stomach, overflowing until it spills into the rest of his body. Something is very wrong. Slowly, almost unwillingly, he reaches up and takes the unfolded paper clip from on top of the doorframe. He slides it into the hole of the doorknob, wiggling it around until he hears a click.
"Kenma?" He calls out one more time, praying to whomever will listen that his best friend will respond. Maybe he's just sleeping - he does have a tendency to stay up all night playing video games. But he always makes it to school. The hinges creak as Kuroo pushes the door open. As the room is revealed, his worst nightmare is right in front of him. He stands in the hallway, stricken. "Ken-ma?" He can barely force his voice from his throat, the name broken coming through his lips. He takes one step into the room, then another.

“I’m sure you did,” Daichi said flatly, knowing as well as he that Koushi had been keeping himself busy, meeting up with friends after work and binge watching the reality show Daichi always refused to watch with him, and then they’d spent every final hour of their day on the phone, Suga brushing his teeth over the speakerphone while Daichi recounted every boring speaker highlight from his out of town conference, already in bed.
“You didn’t even notice what I changed while you were gone,” Koushi suggested finally since it was clear Daichi wasn’t going to notice it without some hinting. Daichi paused unknotting his tie to look around, eyes roving through their small bedroom searching for the alteration as if Koushi might have done something drastic like repaint the room in the week he’d been gone. Koushi rolled his eyes stepping in to Daichi and setting his hands on his broad shoulders.
