Summary
Dazai stared at his subordinate and the white tiger passed out on the ground, dismayed. It almost worked. This was the fourth person they've went to. There was one more person Dazai could take Atsushi to but he had enough reason to guess that it wouldn't work.
Dazai made a face.
There was one person Dazai knew who could do the job. He'd successfully commit suicide though before that gremlin ever found out he had such thoughts. The taste of metallic filled his mouth. He held in the urge to spit it out.
His ears rang as he imagined a shrieking voice yelling his name like it was the worst insult one could come up with and the mirage of fire that surrounded those blue eyes and foul mouth. Ugh, he was so annoying even in his imagination...and short.
Sticking a pinky into his ear to clear out the haunting voice, Dazai went about gathering up his apprentice and the tiger. Maybe fate would take pity on him and this next trip would solve their problem...
He could feel the cursed blood laughing at him all the way back to their hotel room.
Or a magical AU where Dazai inadvertently gets Atsushi cursed and they have to go to Chuuya, a powerful witch in his own right, to break it.

Summary

He reached the front door, putting his hand on the doorknob hesitantly, and creeping the door open. He found himself looking down, instead of forward. Sure—he was relatively taller than most people, but right now, he was looking down-down. Far down.
And really, he would recognise that face anywhere. If he didn’t he wouldn’t be a very good detective.
The name to the familiar face was Arahabaki—the “creature” the ADA had been searching for. The same one who the government was also after. The one who they needed to reach first, was currently scratching at his door like a stray animal.—

"Je vais t'étriper comme le maquereau visqueux que tu es," Chuuya hissed, grip tightening on his collar as he yanked them closer. Like this, Dazai could smell the jasmine of his shampoo and see the anger swimming in his eyes. [“I'm gonna gut you like the slimy mackerel you are.”]
"Oh, Chuuya," he sighed, grinning like a fool. "I love it when you talk dirty to me."
Or, Dazai is convinced (forced) to join his friends for a year in Paris, and he doesn't know a word of French. Chuuya is just hoping to get through school without any strange encounters, and he doesn't know a word of Japanese. They collide (literally) and the situation devolves from there. They figure it out.

Summary

“The Calamity God’s,” Dazai answers emphatically, “what does that have to do with anything?”
“I see,” Chuuya says, tilting his head. “Well, a lot more than you think.”
Or: Dazai's sacrificed to the God of Calamity, Arahabaki, at the age of eight and makes the god's temple his home. At fifteen, he meets a boy called Chuuya, who saves his life and then disappears. At eighteen, he meets Chuuya again...but this time he learns a bit more than he anticipated.
