Summary
When Charles is taken to a faraway realm by the dastardly King of Cats, Edwin must go on a quest to rescue him. In thirteen hours he will have either saved his best friend from the Cat King’s clutches and be home safe, or Charles will become one of the Cat King’s minions, and Edwin will be made to live in the King’s castle forever as his lover/prisoner. Sounds simple, right? If only there wasn’t an ever-changing, impossible labyrinth in the way…

Edwin blinked at his partner, unsure if he heard him correctly. “You found a what?”
“A case,” Charles repeated with a grin. “Just came up. I spoke with the client while I was out.” He set his backpack down on the floor and hopped up onto the desk in his usual position, looking quite proud of himself.
“I’m sorry,” Crystal said, looking up at him with a bemused expression. “You want us to work a case. Tonight. On Christmas Eve?”Or: Charles asks Edwin and Crystal to work a case at 10pm on Christmas Eve. The details of said case are... not important.

His fluffy hair at the front, clumped pieces at the back where he’d slid his fingers in a mere few minutes before. His pretty green eyes that look hazel or even brown in this light, the dark circles he gets when he drinks framing them like intricate paintings. A satisfied, bloody smile.
Mike isn’t satisfied. He swallows thickly, choking down the words 'don’t you want more?'
