Lan and Moiraine have restored their bond. After the battle of Falme, though, some matters are still unresolved.

He rose, closing the distance they had kept until then. There had been a kind of restraint in the way they’d walked after the fight was done: circling each other, drawn to the other’s presence, yet quick to part at the slightest touch. Both needing contact, neither ready to ask for it. Now there was no space left for reserve. Lan took his place beside Moiraine—shoulder to shoulder, thigh to thigh.
It was Moiraine who laced their fingers together, just before pulling his hand to her chest, where she covered it with her free one.

He and Moiraine had not spoken since she had returned, the chasm between them so deep that he doubted they could ever overcome it. He had argued that she would refuse to see him, that someone, anyone, would have a better chance.
The Wheel, it appeared, had other plans.
